The Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations places a number of legal requirements on employers or the duty holder by virtue of a contract or tenancy. To meet these requirements Carlton Manor offers a comprehensive service for the identification, recording and reporting of asbestos occurrences in the workplace.

A range of surveys can be undertaken in accordance with Methods for Determining Hazardous Substances (MDHS) 100 to establish the type, level and condition of asbestos.

Type 1
Presumptive Visual Survey to identify likely sources of asbestos containing material in the premises whilst minimising unnecessary sampling.
Type 2
Sampling Survey, a visual inspection together with representative samples of potential asbestos containing material being gathered and analysed, with resultant findings being assessed.
Type 3
Destructive Intrusive Survey, involving extensive sampling, a legal requirement prior to any major refurbishment or demolition.

Surveys are carried out by directly employed, highly trained and experienced surveyors who hold a minimum qualification of BOHS 402. Samples taken are analysed by approved independent UKAS accredited companies.
Survey reports consist of bound documents, which include bulk sample analytical results, photographs’ sequential records of the site survey an asbestos register and site plans showing the location of any identified asbestos. We also provide recommendations for the treatment/removal and management of all asbestos containing materials.

In addition to the bound document, copies of reports are also issued on CD Rom.
